Conrail RDC local heads south in Croton  Contributor's Pick!       
Freshly painted in MTA colors, an RDC1 is the entire Conrail local from Phougkeepsie. M19 was one of two Amtrak RDCs purchased by the MTA in 1977 to suppliment the Beeliner fleet. This one was Amtrak #19 (ex Penn Central 76, nee New Haven 32). It was altered from its original appearance by Amtrak with the addition of end diaphragms and raised headlights. Built by Budd Company in Philadelphia, PA. It was originally delivered to the New York, New Haven & Hartford in 1953.
