First time a railfan sees a new locomotive model is always fun... this photograph was my first of two types, my first SD60M and my first Dash 8-40B. It was taken at LAUPT's 50th Anniversary while everyone was looking at the covered wagons and steam engines. These two units were futher down the platform -- a brand new SD60M (UP 6085 - EMD 1/89) and a brand new Dash 8-40B (ATSF 7437 - GE 4/89). I believe that 6085 was the first production SD60M ever. |
