Ths Gaffey Street Sub is but a small stub of the one time through line up to Los Angeles (Pacific Electric's San Pedro Via Torrance Line). This line had actually been abandoned through here (ending at a bakery near where the Target store is now), but was re-laid about 25 years back when Amerigas set up shop. |

YLZ71R 20, an LATC Aurant Switch heads light back to Shops Yard in the setting sun. The crew has just put in a huge amount of work on the corn syrup cars in Aurant Yard. This spot was a grade crossing until recently, and one of the few easy places to get a summer shot on this line. Now it's fenced in and not so easy. |

LOW20 El Segundo Local |
| Description: |
This is a shot I've wanted for years, but never had the right light. Today, the LOW20 did LOW10's work at Conoco in Gardena and then ended up shoving to Vought in Hawthorne. That meant the train was facing east in the morning. Unfortunately, this normally green area (in winter I guess) was dirt dry today and I couldn't use my SLR. Had to take the shot with the phone because of the tight mesh chainlink. Still, happy to finally have it. |
